You’re invited to PLEASE volunteer for the Missouri Regional Science Bowl competition held on February 24th at Washington University. We need over 100 people to help!!! Breakfast, lunch and a t-shirt are included for your time!! You’re more than welcome to invite family and friends to help out (including, 15+ in age). The Missouri Regional Science Bowl is a one day event that involves an academic competition for middle school students across Missouri as well as science-related enrichment activities (STEM). The champion of the Missouri competition will receive an all-expenses paid trip to the National Science Bowl (sponsored by the Dept. of Energy).
Science Bowl Competition
Date: Saturday, February 24, 2018
Time: 7:30a – 5pm (as the day goes on, teams are eliminated and we are able to let some volunteers leave earlier afternoon)
Location: Washington University
We have five types of roles to fill for the day: scorekeepers, moderators, timekeepers, runners & logistics.
-Scorekeepers keep score during the competition
-Moderators read the questions for students to answer.
-Timekeepers will track time limits set for students to answer questions asked by the Moderator.
-Runners will “run” (no real running involved) question sheets from room to room each round.
-Logistics help set up & break down the event.
***Training for Moderators, Scorekeepers & Timekeepers will take place the week before the event.
