    Workshop Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming how research is conducted, yet many researchers still use AI tools in fragmented, ad-hoc ways that limit their impact. This workshop introduces practical AI workflows designed specifically for researchers to accelerate literature discovery, knowledge synthesis, and research analysis. Participants will be introduced to structure AI-assisted workflows using large language models, research knowledge bases, and reproducible analysis pipelines. Governance, transparency, and research integrity will be emphasized while demonstrating how AI can reduce repetitive cognitive work and improve research productivity.

    Speaker Bio

Faiz Ahmad holds a PhD in Engineering Science and Mechanics from Penn State. His research background includes thin-film photovoltaics and computational modeling. He is the founder of The 1% AI Cognitive Fund, an initiative focused on helping researchers and institutions adopt structured, governance-driven AI workflows for research acceleration. He focuses on designing practical AI systems that support literature discovery, knowledge synthesis, and reproducible analysis pipelines while maintaining academic rigor and research integrity.
