2020 Georgia Tech Sigma Xi Student Research Awards

Nominations are invited for student research awards sponsored by the Georgia Tech Chapter of Sigma Xi. The awards are made possible by the generous support of the Georgia Tech Research Corporation and the Ferst Foundation of Atlanta.

Awards will be presented at the Sigma Xi Banquet late spring (TBA). The faculty award process has been put on hold. A separate call will be issued for this year’s Sigma Xi faculty research awards as soon as possible.

For this year’s student awards, nominations will be accepted until February 7, 2020. Please see the award categories and instructions for nomination submission at the Chapter's website:

    http://sigmaxi.gatech.edu/georgia-tech-sigma-xi-research-awards/

Nominations for awards should be submitted by a school, department, or a laboratory. Some categories have limited number of nominations that can be submitted by each unit. For details, see

    http://sigmaxi.gatech.edu/georgia-tech-sigma-xi-research-awards/nomination-information/

I would like to bring to your attention that, in addition to Best Ph.D. and M.S. Thesis Awards, there will be up to two (2) Best Undergraduate Research Awards for outstanding undergraduate research as evidenced by a thesis, written report, or published paper(s). (An undergraduate student can be nominated for the Undergraduate Award up to one year after graduation.)

If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Segried Winfrey (Chapter Coordinator) <segried.winfrey@me.gatech.edu> or myself <zhuomin.zhang@me.gatech.edu>.

Thank you for your assistance in promoting and encouraging applications (feel free to forward this email to your unit).
