  • Induction Ceremony 2019 to follow URC, Tuesday April 16th

    Good afternoon everyone.

It gives me great pleasure to announce that we will be welcoming 27 new members into the society in just under a week. Please join in celebrating with our newest members at 5pm on Tuesday April 16th in the Herman Room of the Healey Family Student Center on campus. Our brief induction ceremony will immediately follow the student oral presentations and awards ceremony for the annual Undergraduate Research Conference (URC).

In brief, this year's URC features ~80 student presenters in two poster sessions (Social Room, HFSC) and 3 short oral presentations (Herman Room), with top presenters receiving a plaque and certificates of excellence. The student organizing committee also recognizes a freshman or sophomore undergraduate researcher with a “rising researcher” award. All our members are very welcome to attend any and all parts of this full day meeting - if anyone is keen to get involved, e.g. judging poster or oral presentations, please let me know via email (alex.theos@georgetown.edu).

Our keynote speaker this year is Dr. Guillermo Ameer, Professor of Biomedical Engineering and Surgery at the Feinberg School Of Medicine, Northwestern, whose talk is entitled “Regenerative Engineering: Enabling the Transition from Symptomatic to Curative Therapies.” His talk will start at 12pm during the lunch break between poster sessions (10-1130am then 1330-3pm). Student oral presentations begin at 330pm.

    With best regards,

    Alex Theos
