  • Science is a Contact Sport -- Engage in Sigma Xi

Sigma Xi is one of the oldest and largest scientific organizations in the world, and continues a more than 125-years of active engagement in activities at the interface of scientific research, communication, outreach and society.. Membership is open to scientists and engineers involved in the physical, natural and social-sciences, engineering and technology.  Membership benefits are numerous.  Active Chapters can be found at colleges and universities, government laboratories, and industry research centers around the world. Founded in 1962, the Whitman College/Walla Walla University Chapter continues to engage and serve at the local, regional and national level.

Please respond below if you are interested in learning more about or joining Sigma Xi, or actively engaging in our new initiative to foster interdisciplinary research, communication and outreach across our local community.

    New Opportunities for Membership:

Our Chapter strives to engage our full local community with a broader portfolio of activities. Toward that end, we extend our invitation to faculty and students from all local academic institutions including high schools, professionals at local government offices such as the Army Corps of Engineers, Forest Service, and Dept. of Ecology, and interested community members.  Please share this invitation to membership with your students, colleagues and friends with science interests, and respond below to learn more about our local chapter or join Sigma X. Contact any of us for further information about joining.
