The Ohio State Chapter of Sigma Xi supports OSU student research through our Grants-in-Aid of Research (GIAR) program. Applications are encouraged from undergraduate and graduate students in all areas of science and engineering (including but not limited to Biochemistry, Cellular & Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Ecology, Environmental Biology, Engineering, Geosciences, Speech & Hearing, Anthropology, Psychology, Math & Computer Sciences, Physics, Astronomy, Physiology, Immunology, and Food and Agricultural Sciences). Applications from students are judged on the basis of (1) quality of the project narrative, (2) budget justification, and (3) strength and specificity of the faculty sponsor’s letter of support

Hi everyone, Some of you might have noticed that Virginia Tech graduate student Sydney Hope was mentioned in the last American Scientist Magazine. She was a 2014 winner of a Grants in Aid of Research award for $700, and one of our $1000 Graduate Student winners in past years. News archive-Sydney Hope My graduate student Matthew Kocher was just notified that he also won a Grants in Aid of Research Award ($500) for his work in Prader-Willi Syndrome.
