Two Events Featuring Distinguished Lecturer Omowunmi Sadik

Sigma Xi SIUC Chapter has one great news to share. The Chapter will be hosting its first Sigma Xi Distinguished Lecturer Professor Omowunmi Sadik from Oct 18 to Oct 20. We will be hosting one breakfast and two student lunches with the speaker while Prof. Sadik is delivering two lectures, one scientific and the other public. Please come join us to learn about nanosensor in food safety!

Scientific lecture. 4:00 pm of Thu Oct 19. SIUC Eng A-111. Directional Templating of Anisotropic Nanoparticles using Poly (pyromellitic dianhydride-p-phenylene diamine). Reception will be followed.
Public lecture. 7:00 pm of Thu Oct 19. SIUC Law auditorium (Lesar 120). Can your iPhone tell you what's in your food? - Nanosensors for rapid detection of food pathogens. Reception will be followed.

The Chapter is grateful to receive a grant from Sigma Xi National to host Prof. Sadik's visit. We also had 17 more sources, on campus and off campus, to support her visit. The Southern Illinois community has been working together to host this event, not just the Chapter! The funding sources came from:
