  • Guidelines for TJU Sigma Xi Student Research Day Abstract Submission

Your abstract may be up to 1,000 characters, including spaces, for the body of the abstract, not including title, authors and affiliations.

Body of the abstract must be a single paragraph.
Figures and tables are not permitted.

The body of the abstract may be organized in this fashion:
    • Statement of the study's purpose.
    • Statement of the methods used.
    • Summary of results obtained in sufficient detail. It is not acceptable to only state "results will be presented".
    • Statement of the conclusions reached.

Abstract submission form requires you to affirm that your Faculty Advisor approved the abstract for submission to the TJU Sigma Xi Research Day. Your Faculty Advisor will receive an email of your submitted abstract.

All submitted abstracts will be reviewed for poster presentation. A decision of acceptance will be emailed to the Presenters and the Faculty Advisors by one week after the abstract submissions close.

The accepted abstracts will be published in the Abstract book, which will be available at the Student Sigma Xi Research Day. The names and titles of the Sigma Xi Award winners and photographs taken during the event may be posted at the website of the Thomas Jefferson University Chapter of Sigma Xi Society, University publications, and PR releases.

If you have questions or concerns, please email TJU Sigma Xi at tjusigmaxi@gmail.com or contact Rod MacNeil at (215) 503-2827.
